Towards consolidation of bilateral relations with Pakistan

His Excellency Mr Paramasivum Pillay Vyapoory, G.O.S.K, Acting President of the Republic of Mauritius expressed his ardent desire to consolidate the bilateral relations between Pakistan and Mauritius. The areas of concern include trade, investment, agriculture, tourism, education, and information technology and narcotics control, among others.

That was at the State House on the occasion of the presentation to him of the Letter of Credence from His Excellency Dr. Syed Rizwan Ahmed, the High Commissioner of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Republic of Mauritius on Wednesday 18 July 2018.

The newly accredited High Commissioner conveyed the greetings of the President of Pakistan, Mr Mamnoon Hussain and discussed ways and means to further strengthen the already existing cordial relations between the two countries.

Both the Acting President and the High Commissioner expressed their satisfaction on the prevailing mutual cooperation, be it at regional or international levels.

Our President was particularly praiseworthy to the gesture of goodwill expressed by the team of Doctors (Ophthalmologists) headed by Dr Wajid Ali Khan, Chief Consultant/Dean of the Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital who wholeheartedly provides us with eye surgery expertise in the treatment of a number of eye conditions on an annual basis.

The meeting and the traditional gift exchange ceremony were attended also by Mr. Zahid Ahmed Khan Jatoi, Deputy High Commissioner and Mr. Faisal Idris, Education Attache.
