Air Mauritius won two distinctions at the 2017 edition of the World Travel Awards – Indian Ocean. The Amédée Maingard lounge, the airline’s premium lounge in Mauritius, was elected Indian Ocean Leading Airport Lounge. Air Mauritius also won the Indian Ocean Leading Airline, Economy Class.
The award ceremony was held at the Sun Aqua Vily Reef, Republic of Maldives. Rajesh Beeharry, Manager Special Projects, who also manages the Amédée Maingard lounge, received the awards on behalf of Air Mauritius.
The World Travel Awards was established in 1993 and serves to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all sectors of the global travel and tourism industry. The voting takes place online and a year-long communications campaign encourages global participation from both tourism professionals and customers.
“We are pleased that Air Mauritius has consistently been ranked among the leading airlines in the region for the past 12 years. We are constantly striving to improve our products and services. As from the end of this year we will be offering significantly improved products to our customers with the introduction of two new Airbus A350-900s joining our fleet this year followed by two Airbus A 330 neo in 2018 and two Airbus A 350-900s in 2019.
