On Tuesday 5 August 2025, the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family Welfare hosted a one-day workshop at the National Women Development Centre in Phoenix, highlighting the services offered by the National Women Entrepreneur Council (NWEC). The event was attended by Mrs. Arianne Navarre-Marie, the Minister of Gender Equality and Family Welfare.

The workshop aimed to introduce participants to the extensive support provided by NWEC to promote women’s economic empowerment and foster the growth of women entrepreneurs. These services include business counseling, skills development programs, awareness campaigns and the organization of trade fairs, sales exhibitions and craft markets.

Participants were also encouraged to utilize NWEC’s ICT laboratory, business hub and participate in business-to-business meetings tailored for women entrepreneurs.

Through these initiatives and facilities, NWEC seeks to empower women to develop entrepreneurial skills, access broader markets and actively contribute to the country’s socio-economic progress.
