The Holy Night of Power and Majesty is one of the three Blessed Nights in Islam. It is found in the odd Nights of the ten last Nights of Ramadan.
The Lord of the universe has established unprecedented network of communication between man (as miniature kingdom) and the Eternal in the Sacred Night of Ascension, between the living and those who have departed in the soul world in the Sacred of the 15th Night of Sha’baan, thus the Night of Power (Lailat-ul-Qadr) has come to extend the Power of Energy to man beyond the realm of physico-chemical brain. Our Lord has set up another dimension of divine network to enable the sublime man to communicate with Him by means of spiritual angelic mystical energy and vice-versa. The highest point of supra-naturalistic power-supply was endowed to Jibreel ‘alaihis salaam.
Allah has revealed His Holy Words as means of Divine Electrical Light filled with Divine Powers known as “Jalaal” (Majestic). Those Holy Words are transmitted through the Mystical Angelic Network in the depth of the heart where the spirit is located. These Words filled with Divine Majestic Energy have the power to reduce everything to nothingness as mentioned in Chapter 33 V 72 which reads as follows:- “ We did indeed offer the Trust to the Heaven (sky), the earth, the mountains, but they refused to undertake It, being afraid thereof; but man undertook It”. In another Chapter He declared the following “ Had We sent the Qur’aan on the mountain, verily thou wouldst have seen it humble itself and cleave asunder from fear of God, such similitude’s which We propounded to man that they may reflect”. (Chapter 59 V 21).
In the very beginning of the Holy Qur’aan it is mentioned that “There is no doubt in that Book” (Chapter 1 V 2). Which Book is really mentioned here? The All- Knowing Lord of the universe is talking about Al–Qur’aan but why has He used the word “that” instead of “this” concerning a Book which is front of us? He can’t make a silly or a ridiculous grammatical mistake. It clear that something else is to be conveyed to the sublime human being here.
Al–Qur’aan cannot be conceptualized as a book compared to other books written or printed black and white on a piece of a paper in the form of book manufactured by man somewhere from a printing machine.
Al–Qur’aan as Divine inspiration revealed in the Blessed Night of Power on “a Tablet preserved” (Lauh–un–Mehfooz) as Infinite Limitless Powerful Light, is to be comprehended not by ordinary type of categories of consciousness or conventional observation of mental and intellectual power but through superior state of spiritual consciousness.
When the Arc-Angel Jibreel ‘alaihis salaam brought the very first Holy Message to the Beloved Muhammad Swallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam in the Cave Hira, before transmitting the Divinely Electrified Message to Him, He first hug the Holy Prophet Swallaallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam closer to Him with extreme force to supply the Divine Flames within the Luminous Blessed Heart and Spirit to electrify them with the Divinely Electrified Brilliant Holy Words or Verses poured from the Eternal Source of Power-supply beyond matter, time and space. It was the time of opening the most Enlightened Blessed Heart and Spirit by linking them with the Cosmic Consciousness through the Arc-Angel Jibreel ‘alaihis salaam known as Blessed Station of Divine Power-supply.
The Divinely Electrified Words of Al–Qur’aan bears the most Powerful Energies emanating from the Eternal Source of energy. It was the establishment of an incomparable dimension of Divine network communication between man in the Person of Muhammad Swallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam and his Creator.
That is the main reason why Our Creator Almighty commanded us to touch His Blessed ‘Kalaam’ Al-Qur’aan revealed to His Beloved Prophet Muhammad Swallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam only in total state of purification. (Chapter 56 V 77, 78, 79, 80).
Before reciting a single Verse, Word or even a Letter, internal and external purifications are unconditionally required. When one is reciting Al-Qur’aan, the Words and Verses are tenderly being consumed in his brain, heart, soul and spirit and supply Divine Energy within the whole complex of his existence until he is fully fortified spiritually. Allah Almighty has provided means and opportunities to His servant so that he may attain the height of spiritual consciousness and allow him to dwell in the hidden world of spirit beyond time and space where he can visualize the marvelous treasure of spiritual realities.
The Holy Prophet Muhammad Swallalahu ‘alaihi wa sallam declared “A time will come before the end of time when people will recite the Verses of Al–Qur’aan, but they will never cross his throat”. All the conditions should be strictly observed as required while touching and reciting any verse of Al–Qur’aan.
By mentioning the revelation of Al–Qur’aan in the Blessed Night of Lailat–ul–Qadr cannot be comprehended by our dumb intuitions or blind senses and ordinary categories of logical understanding, but it demands another dimension of deeper knowledge and experiences. Petty academically debates will bring nothing except chaos among believers.
May Allah Almighty enlighten our mind, heart, soul and spirit with His Divine Light on that exceptional Glorious Night of Lailat-ul Qadr.
