The three winners of the Taxpayer Satisfaction Survey (TSS) draw of the Mauritius Revenue Authority (MRA) were rewarded with cheques amounting to Rs 25,000, Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000, respectively, during a prize giving ceremony held, today, in Port-Louis. The draw was effected in the presence of the Director-General of the MRA, Mr Sudhamo Lal; officers of the Gambling Regulatory Authority; and other personalities.
The objective of the TSS is to gauge taxpayers’ perception of the services that the MRA provides and receive valuable feedback from its main stakeholders during the Income Tax e-Filing exercise. The Survey also aims to further improve the following services at the MRA: Service to Customers; Telephony Services; e-Services; Customs Services; Integrity Perception; and Taxpayer Education and Communication Services.
Taxpayers were given the possibility to participate in the TSS during the 2022 Income Tax e-Filing season. This year, 19,921 persons participated in the TSS draw.
In a statement, Mr Sudhamo Lal indicated that the TSS served as a valuable means to gather feedback from taxpayers and further enhance the services provided to the population by the MRA.
“At a time when the country needs financial resources to bolster its economic recovery, to assist the poor, the low- and middle-income earners, I am delighted that the MRA as a key stakeholder is bringing significant contribution”, he stated.
Mr Lal thanked all taxpayers who filed their income tax returns electronically, adding that it was less time-consuming, hassle-free and more efficient. “The TSS was a joint effort of all MRA Departments,” he added.
