The Best Youth Minister Award 2018 has been awarded to the Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr Stephan Toussaint, on Friday 30th November 2018 at Galadari Hotel, Colombo in Sri Lanka at the closing ceremony of the Second South Asian Youth Summit 2018, held from 28 to 30 November 2018.
The award was designated by the International Youth Committee, a non-profit international youth organisation accredited to the United Nations which is based in New Delhi, India.
Ministers of Youth from Sri Lanka, Maldives, Seychelles, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Myanmar, Nepal, Malaysia and high level officials from United Nations were present on the occasion. Dignitaries from various international organisations as well as international medias and more than 1000 youths from over 20 countries also attended the event.
Best Youth Minister Award
The Best Youth Minister Award is presented on the basis of quality of innovation/fresh approaches to problem-solving related to youth; quality of achievement in implementing national youth policy; transparency; and sustainability.
The Minister of Youth and Sports, Bangladesh, Dr Biren Sikder, won the Best Youth Minister Award in 2017.
