Mauritius was conferred the World’s Most Romantic Destination 2018 award at the World Travel Awards Grand Final Gala Ceremony 2018 held in Lisbon, Portugal on Saturday 1st December. This accolade recognises the commitment to excellence which the Mauritian tourism industry has demonstrated over the last twelve months. The award was handed over to the Minister of Tourism, Anil Gayan.
The Ceremony brought together leading figureheads and VIPs from across the globe and coincides with the WTA’s 25th anniversary of honouring excellence in the international hospitality industry.
The WTA was established in 1993 to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all key sectors of the travel, tourism and hospitality industries.
